Andy Reid recently discussed rumors that he might retire from coaching pretty soon. The Kansas City Chiefs head coach, who joined the team back in 2013, addressed the media on Monday and remarked that he will not be retiring any time soon. He also mentioned that he certainly enjoys what he is doing, despite being aware that he is getting older every day.
Andy Reid already built an extensive coaching career even before he joined the Kansas City Chiefs as head coach. In fact, Reid already had another head coaching role before the Chiefs. From 1999 to 2012, Reid was the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.
“That’s not where I was going. I love it here, and that’s not where I’m at. I mean, I’m in the latter part of my career. I got all that. I know today I’m not ready, but, you know, if it’s one of those things, [where] all of a sudden you wake up and go, ‘Whoa,’ you know? But that’s not where I’m at … at all. I’m enjoying what I’m doing. But I’m a realist, too. I’m not getting any younger, so I get that.” Andy Reid discussed with the media on Monday.
Andy Reid has an impressive 28-16 postseason record and has managed to be crowned Super Bowl champion three times. Coincidentally, Reid’s current team, the Chiefs are on their way to play against his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl this Sunday.
Andy Reid Not Only Rumored To Retire, Travis Kelce Also Rumored To Do So
Meanwhile, Andy Reid is not the only person in the Kansas City Chiefs squad who is being rumored to retire quite soon. In fact, rumors have spread around town that tight end Travis Kelce might quit his job once the season ends.
Travis Kelce directly addressed the rumors and remarked that he definitely is not ready to retire, and feels that he has plenty more to give to the game. Kelce’s numbers have definitely slowed down, with the tight end covering only 823 yards this season, compared to 984 yards in the previous NFL season.
Andy Reid and Travis Kelce will be going to the Super Bowl to play against the Philadelphia Eagles. The team got their Super Bowl ticket after winning against the Buffalo Bills with a final score of 32-29. In that game, Kelce did not do much, managing only a pair of receptions for 19 yards.
