Alabama had an interesting first season under new head coach Kalen DeBoer, which saw them reach a 9-3 regular season record.
The Crimson Tide beat Georgia, and it seemed that they would participate in the new 12-team college football playoff.
However, Alabama lost three games to Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma and was the first team to miss the postseason.
DeBoer is an offense genius and did a great job reaching the National Championship two years ago when he was the head coach at Washington, but he didn’t do it alone.
Ryan Grubb was the Huskies’ offensive coordinator, and when DeBoer left for Tuscaloosa last year, there were rumors that Grubb would follow.
Instead, the 48-year-old offensive coordinator stayed in the state, getting the same role with the Seattle Seahawks.
Alabama Makes New Hire
After one season in the NFL, Grubb was let go. There were many rumors that Grubb would return to work with DeBoer, which came true on Sunday.
The Crimson Tide hired Grubb, and now the offense could be clicking, as we saw in Washington in 2023.
According to Touchdown Alabama, the Crimson Tide’s odds of winning the title moved from +1800 to 1600 after the Grubb hire, according to FanDuel.

Alabama has the seventh-best odds of winning its fourth National Championship this upcoming season, and we will have to see if it can do it.
The Crimson Tide, Texas, and Georgia should be favorites to win the SEC. If Alabama can win the SEC title, it can help them start an incredible playoff run.
