Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is wasting no time in making a name for himself in Tuscaloosa. Following a legendary coach like Nick Saban is not easy. DeBoer is making a flawless transition. He got another recruit to come to the program, landing edge rusher Noah Carter, a four-star prospect in the 2024 class.

Carter is the reigning Arizona High School Defensive Player of the Year. He was committed to the Huskies but was released from his National Letter of Intent after DeBoer took the job with the Crimson Tide. It didn’t take long for him to decide where to go next. This comes on the heels of five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams deciding to stick with his original commitment and come to Tuscaloosa.
This Is Unheard Of
This does not happen in the college football world. After a coach of Nick Saban’s stature leaves, the program usually struggles to transition to the next era. DeBoer is getting buy-in from the players. Players are speaking out about what they love about their new coach, and many of the top players are still with the program. Most of the players who left were first or second-year players who may have been looking for a change of scenery.
Alabama isn’t going anywhere. Opposing fans rejoiced when Saban retired, but this team is still going to be a player in the SEC in 2024.
