Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown made a strong statement about Monday Night Football following the team’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15. The loss is the Eagles’ third straight this season.
The Eagles’ defense gave up a touchdown with 28 seconds to go in the game. Jalen Hurts threw an interception to seal the loss to the Seahawks. Now, an Eagles player wants MNF banned altogether.
Brown wants MNF banned after Philadelphia Eagles loss
According to DraftKings, Brown said the NFL should take MNF out of the schedule because of the toll it takes on player’s bodies. Per DOv Kleiman’s transcription:
“Right after the game, you only have a certain amount of time for your body to recover.. I think they should take MNF out. I know it’s cool.. but to turn around after is very difficult. Especially when banged up.”

Brown is worried about the Eagles’ chances in Week 16 against the New York Giants because of the short turnaround this week. One day doesn’t seem like a massive turnaround for players, especially compared to the turnaround time for a Thursday night game.
I don’t see the league taking Brown’s complaint seriously. Nor should they. A difference of one day isn’t enough for the NFL to change an institution like MNF. After all, playoff teams will deal with a short turnaround time when they play on Saturday in the Wild Card round.
