Aidan Hutchinson’s sister, Melissa, was just one among millions who were surprised to learn of the new pope’s ties to Michigan. Last Thursday, Robert Francis Prevost, became the successor to Pope Francis who passed away last month. Prevost chose the name Leo XIV and is the first pope from the United States. Pope Leo XIV has ties to New Orleans and spent his childhood in Chicago.
Upon learning of Pope Leo XIV’s roots in the United States, millions of Americans flooded social media with tribute and even memes. One such meme showing the new pope wearing a Detroit Lions hat brought out Melissa, Aidan Hutchinson’s sister’s reaction on her Instagram.
“This>>>>American pope from Chicago with Michigan ties wearing a Lions hat in a meme… was definitely not on the bingo card this month. But I’m here for it.” Melissa Hutchinson captioned her Instagram post, sharing the meme.
Meanwhile, Aidan Hutchinson will be gearing up for another season with the Detroit Lions in the NFL as their defensive end. Hutchinson has been playing for the Lions since 2022 after being selected by the team as the second pick in the first round of the draft.
Despite having talented players like Hutchinson in their team, the Detroit Lions only managed to impress decently in the previous NFL season. In the previous football season, the Lions finished at the top of the NFC North after winning 15 games and losing two. Detroit managed to make it to the divisional round to take on the Washington Commanders, but lost 45-31, essentially being kicked out of the tournament.
Aidan Hutchinson’s GM Delivers Commencement Speech At North Carolina A&T State
Meanwhile, Aidan Hutchinson’s team’s general manager, Brad Holmes, recently delivered the commencement speech to the graduating class at the North Carolina A&T State University, his alma mater. Holmes blew everyone’s mind away when he delivered lines in his speech inspired by the poem ‘Choose Your Hard’.
Holmes went on to explain that life is certainly hard and encouraged the graduating class to embrace life’s difficulties. Holmes has been the general manager and the executive vice-president of the team since 2021 after being the Director of college scouting for the Los Angeles Rams from 2013 to 2020.
Brad Holmes started his career in the NFL as a scout for the St. Louis Rams, now the Los Angeles Rams. After doing his high school at George D. Chamberlain, Holmes studied college at North Carolina A&T before heading to the NFL to work as an executive.
