Brandon Aiyuk’s agent responded on his X account Sunday following a viral report that the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver officially requested a trade from the team. Aiyuk made headlines on Friday when he unfollowed the team on his Instagram page.
The San Francisco 49ers are negotiating for their WR
Aiyuk and the 49ers are negotiating terms for a new deal, but the two sides are significantly apart. There is speculation the 49ers could trade Aiyuk near or during the draft. Aiyuk believes he deserves compensation more in the ballpark of $30 million a year, whereas the 49ers aren’t sure he’s worthy of No. 1 receiver pay.
A report surfaced Brandon Aiyuk asked for a trade
John Frascella with Razzball put out a report Sunday morning claiming Aiyuk requested a trade from the 49ers:
“Brandon Aiyuk has officially requested a trade from the 49ers, per confirmation from my San Francisco source. Benjamin Allbright & 49ersSportsTalk have also done some preliminary reporting on this story. As of Sunday morning, April 14, the Steelers have been the most aggressive in pursuing a trade for Aiyuk, with the Ravens also expressing interest. My source indicates there’s a 3rd ‘mystery team’ that is coming on strong for Aiyuk, but they refused to divulge any further information. Overall… WOW. Fireworks coming.”
