Adam Schefter is one of the most well known names in sports media.  He is relied on by NFL teams, agents, and much more throughout the league.  However, this weekend saw Schefter post some personal words after a heartbreaking event.

A major company loss has been felt by the ESPN community this weekend:

Longtime ESPN reporter Gene Wojciechowski announced his departure on Saturday. The longtime ESPN reporter took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to open up about his departure from the network. He has good feelings toward ESPN despite his exit.

“After 27 1/2 yrs, my official last day on the ESPN books.

    Owe 1,000 thanks, but forever grateful to J Skipper, J Papanek, Steve Wulf, P Stiegman, Lee Fitting, Mike McQuade, D Kraft, Joe W, @KirkHerbstreit , @ReceDavis , Tom Rinaldi, @Jimmyggg44 , @cbfowler +every editor/prod/crew,” he wrote.

Tributes for the prominent ESPN reporter have been pouring in on social media.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter is among those saddened by his departure.

“Legendary run. Congratulations, Geno,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday night.

It’ll be fun to see what comes next for the prominent football reporter moving forward.

One thing is clear, though: ESPN’s coverage of college football and the National Football League is worse off.
