Former Green Bay Packers and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as has become an annual tradition, is at the center of one of the biggest NFL offseason stories of the spring. Questions surrounding his future in the league are focused on the Pittsburgh Steelers, the only NFL team that has expressed interest and willingness in signing the four-time MVP.

But Rodgers has not made up his mind one way or another about playing in 2025. Just as in years past, retirement is very much on the table for him. However, he also does not seem willing to let his career end because he was cut.

Earlier this week, Rodgers revealed to Joe Rogan that the reason he has not made a decision yet is because multiple people in his life are battling cancer. He also used his appearance on the show to talk about some of his opinions that, as per usual, may be considered controversial by some people.

Aaron Rodgers Believes Transgender Athletes In Women’s Sports Is Anti-Woman

One of the topics that Rodgers and Rogan discussed was the controversial issue of transgender athletes participating in women’s sports. Specifically, the pair discussed athletes who were born biologically male and have undergone transgender surgeries/therapies taking part in sports that are played by biological females.

“The trans woman movement is actually anti-woman,” Rodgers said during the podcast. Rodgers did, however, clarify that he believes that this is true only for sports, not other walks of life. “That’s what I mean — sports. You’re not seeing trans men dominating anything. It’s because there’s a biological difference.”

This is a cultural debate that has been weighed in on by several high-profile personalities, including Rodgers’ predecessor in Green Bay, Brett Favre.

After President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning transgender people from participating in women’s sports, Favre posted on X, “I appreciate President @realDonaldTrump signing an initiative to keep biological boys from competing against females. It’s sad that this had to happen in this day and age, but glad it was done.”
