Aaron Rodgers‘ dynamic with New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, during his time with the team was definitely not a positive one, and renowned sports writer Zack Rosenblatt recently shed more light on this matter in his latest article for The Athletic. According to Rosenblatt, Rodgers and Wilson definitely were doing pretty okay with each other, but their relationship definitely went south with the entrance of Davante Adams.
Adams and Rodgers already had pretty good chemistry with each other after playing together for the Green Bay Packers. As soon as Adams entered the New York Jets locker room, it looked like Aaron Rodgers preferred him over Wilson, and this caused tensions between the two.
“By the end of last season, Wilson and Rodgers weren’t exactly the best of friends. A relationship that started with promise ended with each taking subtle shots at each other in press conferences. Privately, the quarterback complained about Wilson’s tendency to freelance on routes, and there was frustration from Wilson — and others — about how Aaron was funneling targets to Davante Adams, shying away from running the ball and ignoring Wilson in the red zone,” Zack Rosenblatt discussed Aaron Rodgers’ incompatibility with Garrett Wilson in his article in The Athletic.

Aaron Rodgers, while definitely a talented quarterback, has been called out frequently for not taking the time to build chemistry with his teammates. With the instance of his soured friendship with Garrett Wilson, it looks like this incompatibility with other players would have been the main reason for Rodgers’ poor performance with the New York Jets.

Aaron Rodgers Is Making The Same Mistake With Steelers, As Per Julian Edelman
It seems like Aaron Rodgers has not learnt his lesson from his time with the New York Jets and is repeating the same pattern all over again with his new team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. This was discussed by retired football player Julian Edelman recently, when he called out Rodgers for not getting to know his teammates properly before the season kicks off.

Edelman highlighted the fact that Rodgers started training with the Jets only quite late into the offseason in 2023 and 2024. Rodgers also learnt the behaviors of his fellow teammates much later on into the regular season, but this was too late for the Jets to make any progress in the table. Hopefully, Rodgers does not make the same error in the final season of his career.
