Aaron Rodgers is taking his sweet time in free agency while the Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, and New York Giants show interest.
Money appeared to be one of the concerns between Rodgers and the Steelers earlier this week, but that doesn’t seem to be an issue for the four-time NFL MVP as of Thursday. Still, the 41-year-old quarterback isn’t rushing to sign a deal with Pittsburgh now that money isn’t the problem.
The Steelers have a little leverage in negotiations, as they could bring back Russell Wilson. The Vikings have second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy on the roster. The Giants have the No. 3 pick and could be in the chase for a quarterback in April.
There aren’t many great options in free agency left at quarterback besides Rodgers and Wilson.
NFL executive has warning for Pittsburgh Steelers

Per CBS‘s Jonathan Jones, an NFL executive had advice for teams in the hunt for Rodgers, suggesting it might be in their team’s best interest to move on from the former Super Bowl-winning QB for the Green Bay Packers and add another player.
“An NFL team executive cautioned to me earlier today that teams waiting on Aaron Rodgers to make his decision should “do so at their own risk.” There’s only so much waiting a team could—or should—do at the QB position considering the FA market and draft class,” Jones posted on X.
Wait for Rodgers?

Teams waiting on Rodgers have to believe he’s their best, or potentially, only, shot at winning the Super Bowl. Frankly, the options at this point are good minus Rodgers.
The only reason for a team like Pittsburgh to pounce on Wilson is if they believe Rodgers isn’t much of an upgrade. They apparently believe so, or they would have brought back Wilson already.
The Giants would be smart to sign Wilson at this point. The Vikings will be fine either way.
