NFL veteran Aaron Rodgers may be retiring soon, at least that is what one Hall of Fame quarterback thinks about the matter, based on the things he has noticed around.
In his recent appearance at the “Up and Adams Show,” Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon gave his honest prediction on the future of Aaron Rodgers in the NFL.
“Do you think we’re here for Aaron Rodgers’ retirement party?” he was asked in the program.
“Could be,” Moon said. “I saw his agent here last night. Your agent doesn’t usually accompany you to the Kentucky Derby, so who knows?”
How involved will Warren Moon be in the development of Cam Ward? 👀
“I’m going to be a lot more involved than you think. I’ll just put it that way.”@heykayadams | @WMoon1 | @Titans pic.twitter.com/AP1LAFpwSz

Aaron Rodgers has played in the NFL for 20 seasons, beginning his career in 2005 with the Green Bay Packers, where he spent 18 seasons and won a Super Bowl. In 2023, he joined the New York Jets, but his debut season was cut short due to an Achilles injury. He returned in 2024, leading the Jets through a competitive season before becoming a free agent in 2025.

Aaron Rodgers Remains a Free Agent Following 2025 NBA Draft
Aaron Rodgers remains a free agent even after the 2025 NFL Draft, leaving his future in the league uncertain. The New York Jets released him in February, and while he was linked to teams like the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers, no deal has materialized.
The Giants opted to sign Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, while also drafting Jaxson Dart, effectively closing the door on Rodgers joining their roster. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings reportedly rejected Rodgers’ pitch to sign him as a mentor for rookie J.J. McCarthy, further limiting his options.

The Pittsburgh Steelers remain the most likely landing spot for Rodgers, as they still need a quarterback despite drafting Will Howard in the sixth round. Rodgers has expressed openness to continuing his career, but he has also hinted that retirement is still an option, stating that he is “open to anything and attached to nothing”.
If Rodgers does return, analysts project that he could still be a solid contributor, estimating that he would throw for 3,549 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in a full season. However, at 42 years old, his performance may not match his previous MVP-caliber seasons.

Aaron Rodgers has won one Super Bowl championship with the Green Bay Packers in 2011, where he was also named Super Bowl MVP. Over his career, he has thrown for 62,952 passing yards, 503 touchdowns, and 116 interceptions, maintaining a 65.1% completion rate.
