Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets are out of the playoffs for the 14th straight season, disappointing fans incredibly. On Sunday, the Jets played the Miami Dolphins and lost the game with a dismal 32-36 final score. In that game, Rodgers went for 339 yards, completing 27 passes out of 39 attempts, scoring a single TD.
Meanwhile, in terms of rushing, Braelon Allen managed 11 carries for 43 yards, while Garrett Wilson took charge of the defense with seven receptions for 114 yards. On the other side, Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa contributed a pair of TDs, after completing 33 passes out of 47 attempts. When asked about the defeat against Miami, Aaron Rodgers had few words to say on the matter.
“The expectations were high. We didn’t reach them. Not even close,” Rodgers said according to Zack Rosenblatt from The Athletic.
The New York Jets are currently third in the AFC East after winning only three games this season, and losing ten so far. The Jets are two spots below the reigning Buffalo Bills in the table, and one position above the fourth-ranked New England Patriots who have also won only three games in this season.
Aaron Rodgers To Stick With Jets Despite Rumors Saying Otherwise
Meanwhile, despite rumors going around that Aaron Rodgers will be leaving the New York Jets after this season, the quarterback seems to have made other plans. Apparently, Rodgers will be sticking with the Jets for now, and will be back for the next season.
Rodgers was previously playing for the Green Bay Packers, and was then traded to the New York Jets back in 2023. New York definitely had high hopes for Rodgers as soon as he got in the team, but fate had other ideas. In his premier season with the Jets, the quarterback could not get plenty of playing time after an Achilles injury.
His second season with NY is also not going too well, with the Jets currently suffering a 3-10 record. To show his dedication to his current team, Rodgers went on to tell reporters that he recently renovated his house in New Jersey.
The 41-year-old also wants to end his career on a healthy note, and not because of an injury. At the same time, Rodgers is also accepting of his fate no matter what happens to his career, and is also open to any decision that will be taken by the NY ownership at the end of the current season.
