Aaron Rodgers, newly signed Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, has brought mixed reactions from fans and analysts. While many analysts have felt that just because Rodgers has joined the team, the Steelers are not exactly any better, others have said nothing but great things.
Cam Newton, retired NFL quarterback, recently explained on his 4th & 1 podcast that the Steelers have made a solid decision in bringing Rodgers to their roster. Newton argued that no matter what others say about Rodgers, he is still a great quarterback and will be instrumental to Pittsburgh’s success.
“I believe that anytime you have a good quarterback, you have a chance… Mike Tomlin is the most successful regular-season coach always getting a winning season. You know it’s going to be some type of winning season. It’s going to be must-see TV… I can’t wait. Football season can’t come fast enough, you know what I’m saying?” Cam Newton spoke about Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers in his ‘4th & 1’ podcast.
Aaron Rodgers’ signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers has been pretty much ‘the’ move of the offseason. The Steelers reached out to the veteran quarterback right after the New York Jets released him after a disappointing couple of seasons.
However, many have felt that Rodgers is well-past his prime, especially since the quarterback is pushing 42. Despite all this, many fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers have been positive that Rodgers will do volumes for the team in the upcoming football season.
Aaron Rodgers’ Presence Will Help Rookie QB Will Howard
Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers’ signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers will be of great benefit to one person: rookie quarterback Will Howard. The Steelers bagged Howard in the recent NFL draft, and the rookie is already making waves during training with the rest of the players.

According to former NFL player Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers’ presence on the team will do a great deal of good for Will Howard. Through Rodgers’ actions, Howard will learn the ropes of being a quarterback with an NFL team and also perhaps learn from the veteran QBs’ potential mistakes.

Aaron Rodgers, meanwhile, seems to be having nothing but trouble with the new helmet regulations in the league. Rodgers has been used to wearing a Schutt helmet for the majority of his NFL career. However, Schutt is out according to the latest NFL regulations and the quarterback admitted to reporters that he is not happy at all with his new helmet.
