Aaron Glenn, head coach of the New York Jets, recently spoke about his plans for the team in the upcoming season. Glenn was appointed as the head coach of the Jets after their previous head coach, Robert Saleh, was fired in the middle of the season. Glenn was previously the defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions and clearly made an impression. This will be the first head coaching job that Glenn has received in his entire career.
The New York Jets are definitely hoping to have a better season this time out after a subpar 2024 NFL season. The Jets finished third in the AFC East after winning only five games and losing 12. New York had numerous issues with their offense and last month let go of their starting quarterback, Aaron Rodgers.
“To me, it’s a process, and I’ve talked to our staff about this. I’m not here to talk about the playoffs. I’m not here to talk about the Super Bowl when the players first get in. To me, it’s the process of actually making it that point. The two things I want to make sure we do first and foremost is establish the culture that we’ve been talking about and try to create a building environment.” Aaron Glenn said to reporters as the team prepares for the offseason program.

Aaron Glenn has plenty of history with the New York Jets even before he got his head coaching job. Glenn’s first team as a player was indeed the NY Jets, whom he played for from 1994 to 2001. The former player got his first coaching gig with the Cleveland Browns in 2013 as an assistant defensive backs coach.

Aaron Glenn’s New York Jets Need To Train Up Justin Fields
Aaron Glenn will have a busy offseason as the team works to build up their offense around their new quarterback, Justin Fields. Fields signed with the team after Aaron Rodgers was bid goodbye last month.

In his previous NFL season, Justin Fields played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and managed a total of 1,106 passing yards, scoring five touchdowns with a solo interception. Before playing for the Steelers, Fields played for the Chicago Bears from 2021 to 2023.

Dan Orlovsky, NFL analyst, discussed Justin Fields’ role with the New York Jets and what he thinks the team needs to do in respect to the new quarterback. Orlovsky also highlighted NY’s needs in terms of offense and strategy and how Fields will fit into that picture.
