Aaron Glenn, the new head coach of the New York Jets, recently discussed Aaron Rodgers’ future with the team. In his first appearance with the media on Monday, Glenn covered several topics of interest for the team, apart from whether Rodgers will be continuing another season with the Jets.

Nevertheless, the public is still scratching their heads as to if Rodgers will play for the 2025 NFL season with the Jets since Glenn explained that the team will be going to make a number of changes in the roster. The new head coach mentioned that he aims to make the best roster there is, and that they’re going to watch all the game taps to understand the needs of the squad.

“We’ve already texted Aaron and me and [general manager Darren Mougey] are going to sit and watch every game tape there is and then we’re going to look at the whole roster. This thing is not about Aaron Rodgers, folks. This is about the roster. We plan on building the best roster that we can so whatever that may be – guard, tackle, defensive tackle – that’s what we’re evaluating. And listen, everybody is under the microscope. That’s just what it is, so we’re going to do the best we can to make sure we build the best roster.” Aaron Glenn said to reporters in the media conference.

The New York Jets definitely had one of the worst seasons ever and finished third in the AFC East with an embarrassing 5-12 record. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers covered 3,897 yards, scoring 28 touchdowns, along with 11 interceptions in the 2024 NFL season.

Aaron Glenn Will Decide If Aaron Rodger Stays, According To Jets Owner

Aaron Glenn definitely has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders, taking over a team filled with challenges and a quarterback who did not perform his best. According to Woody Johnson, the owner of the New York Jets, Glenn, along with general manager Darren Mougey, has another enormous task of deciding to let Rodgers stay with the team, or if they need to let him go.

This is perhaps the biggest question every NFL fan and analyst is eager to know at the moment, and Johnson seems to have left it in expert hands. In speaking to the press on Monday, Woody Johnson discussed this topic with reporters and also mentioned that he would sincerely welcome Rodgers back into the team if Glenn and Mougey give the green signal.
