Dominick McKinley is staying home.
Before the clock could even strike a single minute after midnight, the LSU Tigers got quite the news to begin the 2024 year.
According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, five-star Defensive Lineman, Dominick McKinley has flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to LSU.

The 6-foot-6, 280-pound Lafayette, Louisiana native spoke with On3 to delve into his decision to stay home in the Bayou:
“The opportunity I could get from them being an All-American and being an instate kid.”
Brian Kelly successfully flipping McKinley over from Texas A&M is just the latest example of Kelly’s honing in on keeping Louisiana natives in-state. Kelly and co. have secured the signature for the top three recruits in the Bayou, including 10 of the top 11 high school athletes for the 2024 recruiting cycle. McKinley joins the likes of Trey’Dez Green (TE), DaShawn McBryde (S), and Tylen Singleton (LB) in Baton Rouge, when it comes to the elite of the elite from the state of Louisiana to stay home.

McKinley is the 27th ranked player in the country for the 2024 recruiting cycle, coming in as the 5th ranked Interior Offensive Lineman, and 1st ranked player from the state of Louisiana.
LSU has jumped up from 9th to 7th in On3’s 2024 team recruiting rankings following McKinley’s announcement.
