While almost all the NFL first round draft picks have been signed to their respective teams, there are still five rookies who have yet to sign their rookie deals. As mandatory camp begins soon, most of these guys should have their contracts figured out, but their are a few super high profile rookies that have still not signed their contracts.
Chicago Bears Have Yet To Sign Their Future
Besides for the number one pick Caleb Williams, the Chicago Bears have also not signed their other top pick in Rome Odunze yet either. But their are five total first-round picks have yet to sign their rookie contracts. It is surprising that the Bears specifically have not locked up their top two picks who are their entire future of the team, but that should probably come soon for both of them.
Besides the Bears future that has not been signed yet, the Minnesota Vikings quarterback of the future J.J. McCarthy has not signed his rookie deal as well. The Vikings have also been slowly like the Bears, as the have not signed their other rookie edge rusher Dallas Turned either.
Besides those four rookies, the Cincinnati Bengals tackle Amarius Mims has not signed his rookie deal yet either.
Everyone Is Getting Paid, The Question Is How Much
It is all but certain that all five of these gentlemen will get paid and sign their four-year contracts, the only thing that is being figured out is the money per year.
Caleb will undoubtedly be earning more than not only the other four players, but probably all the players in the draft as he was the top overall pick. McCarthy however, will probably not be too far behind as he was one of the other top quarterbacks taken in the draft.
All of the players will look to sign these deals before training camp starts, as you don’t want to start your rookie year off on the wrong foot. There is still weeks for these deals to get figured out, and it will only become a worry if any of these players is still not signed come camp. The main preparation for the season starts at camp.
We will have to wait and see when these teams can get the rookie deals done, and just how much they will get. The season is coming up fast and training camp is just around the corner.
