The 49ers played their first preseason game last Friday against the Green Bay Packers to begin the 2022 season. Here are a few important takeaway’s from the 49ers first preseason game.

    The 49ers Offense Is Explosive

The Trey Lance era got off to an explosive start. Lance had a 76-yard passing touchdown to rookie wide receiver Danny Grey out of Southern Methodist University down the left sideline to end the second offensive possession. Lance and Shanahan have many offensive weapons to help Lance transition to the starting quarterback. With Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, Elijah Mitchell, the 49ers offense will be one of the most explosive and high-scoring offenses in the NFL.

    The 49ers Are Deep

The strength of the team is the overall depth throughout the roster. There are not many aspects that people can take away from the first preseason game, but one takeaway is that 49ers are deep at many position groups. One group that is deep at is a wide receiver. With Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, Juan Jennings, Danny Grey, Ray Ray McCloud, Willie Snead, and Malik Turner, the wide receiver core looks as deep as it has ever been under head coach Kyle Shanahan. People should look out for Brandon Aiyuk and Danny Grey to have a breakout years.

    Lance Looks Legit

Lance only played two series as the starting quarterback, and he looks legit. He had many impressive plays during his time, including the aforementioned deep touchdown pass to Grey, but what was most impressive was how he commanded the huddle. Lance looked poised in the pocket. One noticeable play was Lance was under duress, evaded the pressure, escaped the pocket, and slid after his run. Lance was showed his athleticism and intelligence in one play. The slide was the most critical aspect of the play. The best ability is availability in all of sports. If Lance can persevere his body, stay healthy, and slide after his runs, the 49ers will be lethal and a top offense in the NFL.
