2025 NFL Mock Draft: A Detailed Round 1 Selection Class
With the 2025 NFL Draft just over a week from today, the pressure is on for all 32 teams to select the best available quarterback in the hopes of finding their next great positional players. Some teams need a guy under center more than ever, so where do the best players from the 2024 college football season land once their future teams get on the clock?
1. Tennessee Titans
Maybe a guy who became known for weirdly putting mayonnaise in his morning coffee wasn’t such a great idea for a starting QB. The Titans are looking to move on from Will Levis, their 2023 2nd round choice out of Kentucky, and they’ll do that by snatching one of the most high-profile QBs in this year’s class, Miami’s Cam Ward. Even after just a single season with the Hurricanes, the Wazzu transfer dominated the passing game in 2024, racking up over 4300 yards with 39 touchdowns and just 7 interceptions.
Ward also tacked on 204 rushing yards and 4 more touchdowns on the ground en route to a Heisman finalist spot, further proving why he was the best signal caller in college football during the 2024 season. The sheer amount of statistical prowess Ward has is just one reason why he’s arguably one of the top players available in this year’s draft, regardless of position.

2. Cleveland Browns
The Titans will snatch the best offensive player in the draft. As for the Browns, they’ll settle for the best defensive player in the draft, Colorado’s elite two way man in WR/CB Travis Hunter. Yes, that Travis Hunter. 2024 Heisman Trophy Winner Travis Hunter. The Browns are essentially known for attempting to cash in on the biggest celebrity players in college football, and sometimes, they work out- for a little while, at least. Baker Mayfield lasted a decent amount of seasons and is now flourishing in Tampa Bay as a Buc.
On the other end of the spectrum is… ah, right. (sigh) Johnny Manziel. Boy, that was an infamous pick in a history of infamous picks for Cleveland, wasn’t it? Luckily. Hunter isn’t a bona fide Barstool Sports type party boy like “Johnny Football” was. Barf nickname, honestly.

3. New York Giants
Keeping the focus on Colorado, the New York Giants look to get another QB after their ungodly overdue release of one Daniel Jones. And they have the perfect player in mind- the Buffs’ QB, Shedeur Sanders, son of NFL Hall of Fame DB Deion Sanders, who is Colorado’s head coach. With darn near identical offensive stats as Cam Ward (4100+ passing yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 INTs), Sanders is undoubtedly a top 5 selection in this year’s draft.
That’ll be the only good news for Giants fans wanting a new signal caller ever since the Daniel Jones experiment blew up. And it’s because their other two QBs, who they both signed this spring in free agency are washed veterans in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, the NFL’s weirdest QB even before Will Levis joined the league.

4. New England Patriots
Penn State’s Abdul Carter will join a Patriots D in need of some pass rushing, and the senior edge definitely brings the heat, with a 2024 season similar to his freshman campaign. Carter totaled 43 solo tackles for the Nittany Lions, who made it to the 2nd round of the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff while also managing 25 assisted tackles. His aforementioned freshman season had 36 solo tackles, with 25 assists, and as for sacks, Carter could not be stopped, with 12 sacks just in 2024. Before that, his previous season high was 6.5.
This is one linebacker you don’t wanna pass on o,r in the future, play against if you’re even a decent starting QB in the NFL. And for the record, Carter may be one of the highest ever drafted defensive players in NFL Draft history if he goes in the first 5 picks.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars
Rounding out the first five picks will be Michigan’s Mason Graham, another solid defensive star with an even scarier presence. The 6’3″ 320-pound DT from the Wolverines, a fitting set, didn’t quite have the numbers that Carter does, but he’s certainly improved his numbers throughout all 3 of his years in Ann Arbor. Having a national championship under your belt helps, too. Anyway, Graham logged 24 solo tackles and 22 assisted takedowns, while also managing 3 sacks. Basically, what he lacks in sheer number of tackles, he more than makes up for in consistency.

As for the remaining top 10 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, it could possibly go like this:
- Raiders: Texas DB Jahdae Barron- almost 50 solo tackles for a cornerback- possible Travis Hunter alignment?
- Jets: Penn State TE Tyler Warren- 104 receptions for 8 touchdowns and over 1200 receiving yards
- Panthers: Georgia LB Jalon Walker. The Dawgs continue having first-round defensive stars, and yet, this 36 solo tackles and 6.5 sacks LB for once won’t land in Philadelphia.
- Saints: Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart- arguably the most fitting name for a QB, and with the news that Derek Carr’s surgery could knock him out for the entire 2025 season, NOLA needs a new QB and fast. A 4300+ passing yards, 29-6 TD-INT ratio signal caller should very much suffice.
- Bears: Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty- the next Marshawn Lynch- with the proper development. And you have another solid RB in DeAndre Swift. Don’t blow this one like your city nickname, Chicago.
