    BREAKING: Schedule Announced for 2024-25 College Football Playoff

    The 2024-25 College Football Playoff is the first time that the field has been expanded from four teams since its inception, as it is now 12 teams. With that meant the expansion of games and a new playoff format for the CFP. Adam Schefter posted the schedule for the 2024-25 College Football Playoff, which includes the times and the dates of each game.

    The first round will kick off with a game on Friday, December 20 at 8 p.m. ET followed by three games on Saturday, December 21 at noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET respectively. ESPN will broadcast the first and fourth first-round games while TNT Sports will air the remaining two as part of their deal.

    The quarterfinals will take place on New Year’s Eve at 7:30 p.m. ET with the Fiesta Bowl and the remaining three games taking place on New Year’s Day. The Peach Bowl will be at 1 p.m., the Rose Bowl at 5 p.m. and the Sugar Bowl at 8:45 p.m.

    The semifinals will have a standalone game on each night as Thursday, January 9 will have the Orange Bowl at 7:30 p.m. ET and the following day will be the Cotton Bowl at 7:30 p.m. ET. The 2024-25 College Football Playoff will conclude with the national championship game in Atlanta on Monday, January 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

    Playoff Quarterfinals

    • 12/31: Fiesta Bowl 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
    • 1/1: Peach Bowl 1 p.m. ET (ESPN)
    • 1/1: Rose Bowl 5 p.m. ET (ESPN)
    • 1/1: Sugar Bowl 8:45 p.m. ET (ESPN)

    Playoff Semifinals

    • 1/9: Orange Bowl 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)

    The 2024-25 College Football Playoff has seen an increase of eight teams compared to last year’s CFP. The winner of the conference championships for the five highest-ranked conferences. The remaining seven spots are decided by the next seven non-champion teams according to the AP Poll.

    The top four conference champions will receive a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff while the remaining eight teams will compete in the first round.
