The Texas Longhorns had an interesting response directly after winning the Red River Rivalry over the Oklahoma Sooners this past weekend.
After winning the game, multiple Longhorns players took a Baker Mayfield jersey from his time with the Sooners, and planted a Texas flag through it. Mayfield had previously down various similar gestures to opposing teams during his time in college. However, Mayfield has not player for the Oklahoma Sooners since the 2018 college football season.

The incident provided plenty of responses as it was viewed as an odd and unusual incident to have occurred following the win. Mayfield was asked about the incident following a win of his own at the NFL level, to which he responded he lives “rent free” in the minds of Texas Longhorns athletes.
Baker Mayfield on Texas players planting a Texas flag on his jersey at midfield yesterday:
“Just a kid from Austin, Texas that went to Oklahoma, won his last two Red River games and being rent free in their heads for almost a decade.”

The Texas Longhorns players have been silent since Mayfield made his comments, but the Oklahoma Sooners fans and Longhorns fans have not. Some fans have pointed out the fact that Mayfield has not played for the Sooners for quite some time now. Other fans commented on the fact that Mayfield did the same to other teams during his tenure in college.
he’s right dude hasn’t played CFB since 2018 he had nothing to do with yesterday outcome lol

Regardless of the comments from Mayfield and Sooners fans, the Texas Longhorns will have bigger fish to fry with their upcoming game.
Texas Longhorns Shift Focus Towards Georgia Bulldogs Following Post-Win Actions

While the Red River Rivalry went how the Texas Longhorns expected, the Longhorns need to focus on the Bulldogs in order to maintain the top ranking.
Georgia beat Mississippi State, 41-31, last weekend but not without seemingly building up frustrations in the process. Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart was spotted shoving a Mississippi State player, and Georgia received multiple unnecessary penalties. The Bulldogs are currently in a vulnerable spot, which means the Longhorns will have to capitalize moving forward.
