The Seattle Seahawks completed voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) last Friday and will have mandatory minicamp from Tuesday, June 11, to Thursday, June 13. Once minicamp finishes, they will have a month and a half off before training camp begins.
One of the biggest storylines surrounding the Seahawks’ offense is the number of wide receivers they will keep on their 53-man roster.
The Seattle Seahawks’ wide-receiver room is up for grabs
DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Jake Bobo already have the top four spots locked down, leaving the last roster spot/s up for grabs. Notable players who will compete for a roster spot include Dareke Young, Dee Eskridge, and Laviska Shenault.
The Seahawks will host a speedy receiver for a tryout.
The Seattle Seahawks will host a speedy receiver for a tryout
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Seahawks will host Robbie Chosen for a tryout during minicamp.
“Free-agent WR Robbie Chosen — AKA Robby Anderson, AKA Robbie Anderson, AKA Chosen Anderson — will participate in the #Seahawks minicamp this week on a tryout basis, per source.”
Chosen has played for four teams and is in his ninth year in the league. He has played 120 games and started 86, with 379 receptions for 5,082 yards and 30 touchdowns.
He spent the 2023 season in Miami.
Robbie Chosen played for the Miami Dolphins in 2023
Chosen signed a 1-year, $1,317,500 contract with the Dolphins during the 2023 offseason. He didn’t pan out. The Dolphins released him during roster cuts and later signed him to their practice squad.
Chosen bounced around on their practice squad, on the active roster, and was a healthy scratch for some time. He played nine games, with four receptions on six targets for 126 yards and one touchdown.
Robbie Chosen appears to be a good fit for Ryan Grubb’s offense
According to Tyler Forness of Sports Illustrated, Chosen could be a fit for Grubb’s offense.
“Chosen does look to be a good fit for what offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb wants to do in throwing the ball vertically. It will be interesting to see how he fits in with the current Seahawks wide receiver room. It’s a stacked group with a lot of young talent.”
Will the Seahawks sign Chosen, and how many WRs will they keep on their 53-man roster?
