There are a few NFL insiders that apparently know where Aaron Rodgers is, and why he is not excused for his absence to start minicamp. FOX Sports analyst Colin Cowherd and a former NFL quarterback both revealed where Rodgers is and why he did not show up to mandatory minicamp.
Aaron Rodgers Is Taking A Nice ‘Expensive’ Vacation

Apparently, Rodgers is on quite the beautiful vacation overseas, as there have now been numerous reports that Rodgers is absent from the New York Jets minicamp because of this vacation. Cowherd, on his show ‘The Herd’ reported that Rodgers is actually overseas.
“An event? I was told last night from a source I trust, Aaron is on vacation and it’s overseas,” Cowherd said. “I was also told you’ll learn about where he’s at tomorrow. I don’t want to burn my source. I’m told you’ll learn about it tomorrow.”
The FOX host continued by criticizing the makeup of the organization
“This is sort of what you would expect,” Cowherd said. “Impulsive owner, new GM, coach with a losing record, prickly, older, at times arrogant, disconnected quarterback in New York City with a pretty relentless – and in arguably massive- press core. This is what you get.”
Cowherd was not the only one to report on Rodgers’ absence, as Jets insider Connor Hughes reported that the star quarterback had this trip planned way back when he was in rehab from his season ending Achilles injury. He claims that the Jets knew for a while about this trip, but that it is unexcused because the organization can’t excuse a trip.
Hughes went on to say the team is not at all concerned about this trip and think it won’t have any impact come the start of the season.
“Aaron Rodgers planned this trip when he was still rehabbing. The #Jets have known about it from the moment there was an overlap with the release of the minicamp schedule,” Hughes wrote on X.
“Rodgers is ‘unexcused’ because you can’t excuse a trip, but not a contract dispute (Haason Reddick). Semantics, but there’s no unrest inside the building.
“The Jets don’t think it’s a big deal, not sure why the world is reacting differently. Rodgers missing these two days (after being at every voluntary workout the last two years) will have zero impact on what the #NYJ/Rodgers accomplish this coming season.”
Former NFL Quarterback Says Rodgers Is Living It Up

One former NFL quarterback poured even more gas on the fire when he suggested on social media that Rodgers is not with the team due to a very expensive trip. He did not reveal exactly where Rodgers is but hinted to it being a very expensive destination.
“Wait until you hear where Aaron Rodgers is…instead of with his teammates,” Daniel wrote on X. “That’s an expensive absence.”
The organization simply has not handled this whole ordeal well when it comes to how it has played out in the media. Head coach Robert Salah just made a few strange comments saying that they did not know where Rodgers was then switched his tune. Now he claims that he and his quarterback are on the same page, but still this is an unexcused absence.
“Aaron and I are on the exact same page,” Saleh told reporters Wednesday. “There’s no issue between Aaron or his teammates, for that matter. We addressed it yesterday. It’s more of an issue for everyone outside the building than it is inside.”
Its unlikely that any of this impacts the season, but if this is highlighting something much larger than just a vacation, than the Jets may not get close to their goal of the Super Bowl.
