A Cleveland Browns pass rusher was carted off the practice field on Monday in pain. The Browns had a couple of notable injuries on the defensive line during the padded practice.
Per Zac Jackson with The Athletic, defensive end Sam Kamara left practice and walked into the locker room with an athletic trainer. Kamara had a good practice before the injury.
A few moments later, the Browns had another injury to a defensive end.
Za’Darius Smith suffered an injury
According to Noah Weiskopf with 24/7 Sports, star defensive end Za’Darius Smith left practice with a painful injury:
Smith just was carted into the field house with a member of the medial staff while holding his left side and in obvious pain. It’s unclear what exactly happened, but it was evident he was in distress.
The Cleveland Browns carted Smith off the field
Dan Labbe posted a video on X that showed Smith taking a cart off the field. He was bent over and looked to be in serious pain.

It was immediately unclear how severe the injury was. Per multiple reports, the injury occurred during the Browns’ red zone drill.
The All-Pro defensive end is an important part of the Browns’ defense. He recorded 27 total tackles and 5.5 sacks in his first season in Cleveland during the 2023 campaign.
Fans wishing the best for Smith
Okay this helps a little bit. Since he’s sitting in the passenger seat it hopefully isn’t serious.. maybe cramping

Seems Like A cramping/ dehydration issue. Its very very hot outside today. If he’s sitting in the passenger seat makes me believe he was cramping and was going in to get IV fluids in his body.
