The Washington Commanders will be hosting the 2027 NFL Draft at the National Mall on Monday. This was announced by Commanders owner Josh Harris, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and President Donald Trump.
There was a lot of talk to the media about the even coming to D.C. The Green Bay Packers hosted the 2025 NFL Draft, and the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the 2026 NFL Draft. With the Commanders hosting the 2027 NFL Draft, it is a new day for Washington fans. There is a lot to be excited about with the future for this football team, including quarterback Jayden Daniels.
President Donald J. Trump Praises Washington Commanders Quarterback Jayden Daniels
Donald Trump spoke to the media on Monday about the Commanders hosting the NFL Draft in 2027 in Washington D.C. at the National Mall. Along with this announcement, Trump was speaking to Harris, the owner of the Commanders and said about his football team,
“You have a very good quarterback.”
Trump is speaking facts with his statement about Daniels. He was the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2024 for the NFC. Daniels completed 69.0% of his passes for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 891 yards on 148 carries and six touchdowns, along with averaging 6.0 yards per reception.

It is correct that Trump will still be the president when the Commanders host the 2027 NFL Draft in Washington D.C. at the National Mall. Some fans may not like that, but what they will like is the comments that Trump made about how good Daniels is. He has a chance to lead Washington to a Super Bowl title at some point in his NFL career also.
