Defensive tackle prospect Xzavier McLeod announced his pledge to his hometown college, the University of South Carolina. He picked the Gamecocks over Florida, LSU, Michigan, and Georgia.
In June 2021, McLeod took an unofficial visit to the school’s campus and attended a camp that same week. He took official trips to LSU and Michigan but decided to remain in-state for his college football career.
Jimmy Lindsey, the defensive line coach for South Carolina, earns credit for bringing in the four-star DT. He enters his second season coaching in Shane Beamer’s program. Lindsey played linebacker at Chattanooga for four seasons and began his college coaching career at his alma mater.
