“Wow”: New York Giants Fans Ecstatic Over Jaxson Dart Being QB2 Ahead of Week 1 Matchup Against the Washington Commanders

It was made clear on day one of training camp that the New York Giants would be starting quarterback Russell Wilson against the Washington Commanders in Week 1 on the road. With that being said, there was a quarterback battle for the backup position between rookie Jaxson Dart and veteran Jameis Winston.

Well, according to the Giants depth chart, Dart will be the backup quarterback to Wilson for Week 1 against Washington over Winston. This means that Winston is going to be the third quarterback on game days. The fact that the rookie quarterback beat out Winston for the backup role means that he is potentially ready to play live game action sooner rather than later.

Well, with Dart being the backup quarterback, there will be many people trying to guess when he is going to start in place of Wilson at some point for the 2025 NFL season. With that being said, hopefully the Giants do not need to rush him into action even though he is ready to potentially step in.

New York needs to win games early on in the season as well with Wilson and don’t have Dart thrown into the wolves. There is no doubt that Dart has a bright future ahead of him with the Giants and this is why fans are excited. Even with Wilson as the starter for now, the vibes for sure feel very different for this football team entering the first week of the 2025 NFL season.
