Wisconsin Badgers Staff Extends Scholarship to Successful 2026 Four-Star Linebacker

The Wisconsin Badgers football staff has extended a scholarship to one of top recruits in the state of Mississippi in the 2026 class.

Linebacker TJ White has become a name to watch in the 2026 class as the four-star linebacker continues to pick up scholarship offers. White was just recently in Oxford for a recruiting visit with the Ole Miss Rebels, and now has picked up a Big Ten Conference offer from Wisconsin. The Wisconsin football staff loves what they see from White, and hopes to land the recruit in the future when he nears his commitment.

The Wisconsin staff has been working hard to try and piece together another solid class in the 2026 cycle which has involved a fair amount of travel. One such state Wisconsin has looked to expand into is the state of Mississippi, where plenty of amazing talent has been produced in the past. The Wisconsin staff has been extending offers left and right in hopes of attracting more talent to Madison moving forward.

One of the players who recently received a scholarship was TJ White, a four-star linebacker in the 2026 recruiting class. White is the ninth-ranked recruit in the state of Mississippi in the 2026 recruiting class as well as the 243rd overall recruit in the class. The linebacker currently has a handful of scholarship offers including Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Auburn among plenty of other programs.

White states that currently the two Mississippi schools have been keeping the closest and most consistent contact early on. While White is not ready to create a list of programs yet, the linebacker does have a good idea of what he is looking for out of his future collegiate program. The linebacker stated, “I am looking for good communication and a defensive I fit well into.”

What Can White Provide the Wisconsin Football Team, Other Defenses?

With White on a collegiate defense, a team would be getting quite the athletic playmaker in the open field on defense. The linebacker is a lengthy, quick defender who does not need much room to be able to make a tackle on the ball carrier. It is difficult for the ball carrier to get away from White due to his pursuit ability and his ability to read the hips of the ball carrier and react.

White is also not afraid to play physical football, as the linebacker stated he ‘loves’ hitting and enjoys being able to land big, clean tackles. At 6-feet-3-inches, and roughly 200 pounds, White is a big middle linebacker with plenty of range to his game, between attacking the run and blanketing the offense in coverage. At the collegiate level, White is likely going to play middle linebacker but has the size, strength, and moves to play outside linebacker or edge rusher if needed.

Perhaps what White does the best on the field and the area he offers the most towards defense is his ability to read the offense. White looks like he is consistently a step ahead of the offense, and that is due to his ability to read and predict where the ball is going to go. White may not prevent each play from happening, but he consistently finds himself wherever the play finishes.
