For the Wisconsin Badgers, it has been a great start to the game on offense as the team appears to seem much more confident.
Confidence can play a much bigger role in success in sports than many seem to believe. When a team or a player are able to play confident football, the result on the field is often lovely to watch for the fans. For the team, confidence is something pivotal that every team and player truly needs.
The Wisconsin Badgers, however, have struggled to fully connect on the offensive side of the ball through three games. Receivers dropped balls, the quarterback went down with an injury, and the offense failed to truly test any defense through the air.
Through one half against the USC Trojans, however, and the Badgers offense finally look like they have become a cohesive unit. Wisconsin has scored three touchdowns in the first-half of play, which is rather impressive consider backup quarterback Braedyn Locke has been in.
Locke is a solid, capable quarterback but did not have the best showing a year ago when filling in for then injured starter Tanner Mordecai. Already, Locke looks tremendously improved as he has delivered beautiful strikes across the field for the Badgers. Wisconsin previously seemed to fail to find an ‘air raid’ identity, but seem to have finally figured it out against the Trojans.
Locke finished the first-half with 130 yards passing and a deep touchdown to receiver Vinny Anthony downfield.
What Have the Wisconsin Badgers Done Right on Offense Thus Far?
While the team has down well overall, the offense really has looked great throughout the first-half, which has prompted Wisconsin Badgers fans to praise the offense.

This is the most impressive two Quarters of
football that a Luke Fickell Badgers team has put together.— Wisconsinsane (@wisconsinsane) September 28, 2024
Long way to go today, but this is all Badger fans have wanted to see since Fickell took over…progress…competing against a good (though I suspect overrated) team.

That was genuinely incredible. Best half of football i’ve seen in a regular season game in LONG time, especially against this type of opponent.
Locke in, finish the job. PLEASE 🙏

Many fans believe the offense is capable of performing the same each game, and have praised offensive coordinator Phil Longo for airing the ball out.
Kudos to Longo for a really good offensive game plan thus far. This is a glimpse of what many of us wanted to see from this offense. I like what I see…

Regardless of who is responsible for the offensive success, the Wisconsin Badgers will need to keep it up moving forward. USC is a tough test for Wisconsin, but as will be Rutgers, Penn State, Oregon, Iowa, and Nebraska moving forward.
