The NFC North is up for grabs
Minnesota holds on to an important victory against the Saints on Sunday morning, keeping them in first place and undefeated in the NFC North. The Packers are also three and one, with a few shaky wins and a loss to Minnesota. The Bears fell to the Giants in MetLife and drop to five hundred. The Lions lose another heartbreaking game, scoring 45 points and slide to one and three with a handful of injuries to deal with.
Therefore, with Kirk Cousin settling in nicely with the new offensive system. Justin Jefferson ranking fourth right now in receiving yards, along with two touchdowns. The Vikings have a dynamic offense, with Thielen to compliment Jefferson and Cook interchanging with Mattison on the ground. The question mark lies on their defense. Currently un-ranked in the top 20 defenses and let up 25 points to a backup quarterback .
Vikings and Packers Both Fortunate to Be 3-1
Although, the Vikings weren’t the only team to slide by the thin of their teeth to a backup quarterback. Packers won on a field goal in overtime to Patriots third string quarterback Bailey Zappe. Which means both the Vikings and Packers are flawed in their respective ways, mostly Vikings on defense and Packers on offense; but the Vikings should have the continuity and chemistry to lead them to a division title this season.
The Vikings will face the Bears at home at one o’clock on Sunday. Then, they head down to Miami to play the three and one Dolphins right before their bye week. The Packers are up against the Giants at home, who are in quarterback trouble. Followed up the week after with the Jets at home, then Commanders on the road. If the Vikings can win against the Bears on Sunday and stay undefeated in the division; it will not count the Vikings out if Aaron Rodgers and the Packers go on a win streak over the next few weeks.
