The Indianapolis Colts last season had Anthony Richardson and Joe Flacco as the quarterbacks. Richardson had taken a road bump in his development, so Flacco started in some games for the Colts near the end of the season.

Indianapolis has not made the playoffs since the 2020 season. One quarterback who was on the free agent market as of Monday night was Daniel Jones. He was with the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants last season.
Indianapolis Colts Sign Daniel Jones To One-Year Deal

On Tuesday morning, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported,
“Colts expected to sign QB Daniel Jones to one-year deal.”
This is a very interesting development for both parties. Daniel Jones feels like he could be the starting quarterback for Indianapolis next season. He will be competing with Anthony Richardson for the starting job. Last season, Jones completed 63.3% of his passes for 2,070 yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
He also rushed for 265 yards on 67 carries and two touchdowns, along with averaging 4.0 yards per carry. It could be interesting that head coach Shane Steichen and general manager Chris Ballard are banking on Jones to potentially save their jobs in 2025.
Fans React

One fan said, “Will Daniel Jones start on the Colts?”
Another fan added, “colts won the biggest sweepsteaks of the off season”
Another fan said, “The second coming of Carson Wentz?”
Will Jones have a surprise season for the Colts in 2025 like when Wentz was with the team a few seasons ago before they just missed the playoffs? Indianapolis will have one of the more interesting quarterback battles this season. If Anthony Richardson does not win the starting job, he will be labeled as a bust for this franchise.
