Robert Griffin III was asked on ESPN’s First Take show “who will win the AFC East division this year?” RG3 replied that he has the Miami Dolphins favored in winning the AFC East this year. He feels confident in the Dolphins with the changes they have made in the offseason.
Here is Why RG3 has the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East
RG3 has the Miami Dolphins winning the AFC East title because the Buffalo Bills lost their identity in losing Stefon Diggs, Jordan Poyer and not sure what is going on with Micha Hyde. The Bills have not only lost one of the best wide receivers in football but they have lost their identity as a defense with losing Poyer to the Dolphins. Also the Jets have only Aaron Rodgers at quarterback and rookie quarterback Drake Maye for the Patriots.
The Miami Dolphins have quietly stacked their team this offseason on the defensive side of the ball with Bradly Chubb, Jaylen Phillips coming back this season from injury and the Dolphins drafting Chop Robinson. These pass rushers will give quarterbacks like Rodgers and Maye a hard time.
Griffin III also stated that the Dolphins have a top 5 quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa , running backs Achane and Raheem Mostert and wide receivers Tyreek Hill, OBJ and Jaylen Waddle.
RG3 also thinks that they Dolphins are not only ready to claim the AFC East Division title but going deep into the playoffs this year. Maybe the Dolphins will meet the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch in the playoffs? time will tell what happens this upcoming NFL season.
The Miami Dolphins were almost AFC Division champs last season but could not close out it with wins against the Tennessee Titans and the Buffalo Bills in the regular season. The Dolphins are hoping to change that narrative and prove they can win the division title and contend in the playoffs.
The last time the Miami Dolphins won the AFC East was in 2008 and the last time the Dolphins went to the Super Bowl was 1984 and lost against the San Francisco 49ers.
