“Who Did He Get a Bag From?” – #2 Ohio State Buckeyes Trolled Following Huge 4-Star Decommitment

The Ohio State Buckeyes have lost a big four-star addition to the 2025 class on the defensive side of the football after his decommitment.

London Merritt, a four-star edge rusher from Georgia, plays for IMG Academy and has kept close ties down south during his tenure. Merritt was a big part of the defensive side of the 2025 class for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and already has received three crystal ball predictions to land with the Colorado Buffaloes. Merritt has plenty of ties with the program and is a teammate of multiple current players on the roster, as coach Deion Sanders has a great relationship with IMG Academy.

Penn State’s James Franklin, left, talks to Ohio State’s Ryan Day before a game on Nov. 2, 2024 in University Park, Pa. The Nittany Lions lost, 20-13, pushing Franklin’s all-time record against the Buckeyes to 1-10.

Merritt is considered to be one of the most pure power edge rushers in the country, with a serious push that most lineman do not want to be behind. The near 6-foot-3-inch, 250-pound defender is a true game-changer and someone who may hold a crystal ball now, but will have plenty more programs interested.

Merritt previously committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes in March, before taking multiple official visits to different schools. The defender spent time with UNC and Colorado, as well as with the Buckeyes before announcing his decision to re-open his recruitment. Merritt may very well not be an open recruit for much longer, as the recruit could be near another commitment announcement very shortly.

The main reasoning behind Colorado picking up Merritt currently is the relationship Merritt has with both the entire staff and Sanders in particular. The athlete is very close with the coach and is also close with multiple players who are currently on the team. Along with both of these factors, Colorado is also a red-hot recruiting program at the moment after landing Julian Lewis who is a bit of a recruiter himself.

While the loss of Merritt really hurts the Ohio State Buckeyes, the loss of momentum and recent misses on the recruiting trail are really starting to take a toll.
