BYU plays its first home game on Saturday against Baylor. With many fans coming into Provo from both teams this article will be a guide on what to do, where to eat when to arrive to get a good parking spot, and so on for the Gameday. I have been going to games for years and used to live in Provo so I know how much fun it is to attend games in person. If this is your first time in Provo I hope that it is enjoyable and I hope that this article will make it easier to navigate a game day in Provo Utah.
Places to See
Hike the Y
This hike up the mountain is beautiful in the fall. The hike itself is 2.2 miles round trip I think that it is decently easy and fun to do with children. It does get steep in some parts so plan for that you are also experiencing a good elevation change so remember that it may get harder as you get closer to the top. Also watch out for wildlife they can be on the trail or close to it.
Victory Bell
This is a must on gamedays. Before the game and even after the game especially if you are a Cougar fan and we come away with the Victory. After the game if we win Cosmo and a couple of players will be there to ring the bell, take pictures and sing the fight song.
Legacy Hall
Legacy Hall is open to the general public Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Admission into Legacy Hall is free of charge and complementary tours are provided throughout the day or by appointment. For more information regarding Legacy Hall, please call 422-2118. This is a museum for BYU athletics it features 34 display cases, 21 wall displays and 13 video kiosks.

Listen to BYU Radio
When traveling to the game turn on the radio to Sirius XM 143 and its on the AM channel. This is the pregame with the legendary Greg Wrubel get all your game day info there.
Get there early
With the stadium holding almost 64,000 fans it will get busy and traffic is a nightmare. Getting there a half hour to an hour early is the best time to arrive. If you want to be there earlier for tail gaiting and other pregame Cougar traditions that those are listed below.
Cougar Canyon
This is where the tailgating and the party exists before the game. Located on Canyon Road West of Lavell Edwards Stadium. It begins 3 and half hours before kickoff. Here you can find Food trucks, live music, games and BYU greats.
Cougar Walk
This happens two and half hours before kickoff. Be there to watch the team enter the stadium and help hype them up for the game.
Bring something to sit on
With the stadium having benches as chairs bring a stadium seat and blankets to sit on and those benches are hard. They also seem to feel harder the longer you sit there. Also check the bag policy before attending the game.
Cougar Tails
This is a must have once you are in the stadium. The Cougar Tail is a 16 inch long maple bar. I love these things and I usually get one at almost every home game. It usually takes me the entire game to eat and I also split it with my family.
