The West Virginia Mountaineers decided to fire Neal Brown after the 2024 season. Rich Rodriguez is the head coach for West Virginia for the 2025 college football season.
West Virginia is looking to represent the Big12 Conference in the college football playoffs. They finished with a 6-7 record last season and hope better days are ahead for this program. The West Virginia Mountaineers need to make noise this season in conference play.
West Virginia Mountaineers Schedule Announced
The West Virginia Mountaineers college football schedule was announced on Tuesday. The opening game for West Virginia will be against the Robert Morris Colonials (FCS opponent) on August 30. It will not be a far ride for Robert Morris because Morgantown, West Virginia is not far from Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania.
They will face arch rivals, the Pittsburgh Panthers on September 13. The following week, the West Virginia Mountaineers will begin conference play against the Kansas Jayhawks. They will also face the Houston Cougars on November 1 and then face the Texas Tech Red Raiders on November 29 in the final game of the regular season.

A lot of West Virginia Mountaineers fans are confused as to why the Texas Tech Red Raiders are in the final game of the regular season once again in 2025. West Virginia needs to have a big year in college football and get themselves back on the map also.
