The Cleveland Browns finished with a 3-14 record during the 2024 NFL season. Running back Nick Chubb missed time during the 2024 season with an injury.

He was still a free agent as of Sunday, but there are reports that he will most likely sign with the Houston Texans. With that being the case, Chubb will be paired in the backfield with Joe Mixon. If healthy, it could be the best running back duo in the NFL. Browns fans are not thrilled that Chubb is not coming back to the team.

In the offseason, the Browns drafted Quinshon Judkins from the Ohio State Buckeyes and Dylan Sampson from the Tennessee Volunteers to fix its running back room. Jerome Ford is expected to be the starting running back for Cleveland to begin the 2025 NFL season. Well, because of this, there is no room for Chubb on the team, and this is why he is going to be heading to the Texans.

Well, one Browns fan called into the Ken Carman Show on 92.3 the FAN in Cleveland, Ohio. One fan said about Cleveland not bringing back Chubb,

“(We’re) gonna suck regardless. (Nick Chubb) was the best player we’ve ever had, he deserved better… Now these guys making the decisions, I don’t trust (them).”

Chubb during the 2024 season rushed for 332 yards on 102 carries and three touchdowns, along with averaging 3.3 yards per carry. He also caught five receptions for 31 yards receiving and one touchdown, along with averaging 6.2 yards per reception. Chubb has been with the Browns since the 2018 NFL season. He was the 35th overall pick (second-round selection) from the Georgia Bulldogs in the 2018 NFL Draft.

With the Texans potentially adding Chubb, it is going to make them into a more lethal offense. Houston will be a contender in the AFC with C.J. Stroud at quarterback. As for the Browns, there are many questions with this football team entering the 2025 NFL season and this is one of the reasons why this fanbase is furious with the direction this franchise is heading in also.
