Arch Manning‘s Texas Longhorns struggled again on offense in their 29-21 loss to Florida on Saturday. The loss dropped their record to 3-2 in the 2025 season.

“I’ve been saying it a lot,” Wingo said. “Arch is a competitor, and he’s the reason our team goes. We’re behind him 100% and I know for sure we’ll all bounce back.”

Manning finished 16-of-29 passing for 263 yards and two touchdowns but also threw two interceptions to Florida defenders.
While many fans pointed fingers at Manning for the offensive struggles, Austin American-Statesman columnist Cedric Golden came to the quarterback’s defense.
“Today is not an Arch Manning problem. He has stood tall in the pocket behind an average offensive line, delivered some nice throws,” Golden tweeted.
Meanwhile, Manning also had a promising response on if the season goals are still ahead of the squad:
“Absolutely. It’s a long season. Anything can happen. We’ve just got to continue to get better each week and take it one game at a time.”

Texas’ offensive woes went beyond the passing game on Saturday, as the team managed just 15 rushing yards from its running backs and allowed six sacks in the loss.
Steve Sarkisian gives update on Arch Manning’s injury
Rumors of a shoulder injury have surrounded Arch Manning ever since Texas’ Week 1 loss to Ohio State. His performance on Saturday of completing just 55% of his passes and throwing two interceptions may have been affected by that injury.
After the Week 6 game, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian provided an update on Manning’s condition:
“Kind of got a stinger on his shoulder. That’s why he went to the tent and came back out. He did take some hits. I thought Arch competed today. He battled his butt off.”
Sarkisian also said that X-rays came back negative for wide receiver Parker Livingstone, who suffered a lower leg hit and was unable to return.
“I don’t think he has anything serious,” Sarkisian added.
The Longhorns will now shift their focus to Oklahoma for the Red River Rivalry on Saturday.
When asked if the Longhorns would need to adjust their season goals, the HC was firm:
“No, not at all. We’re a one loss team in the SEC. There’s a lot of football left to be played. We’ve got 7 conference games to be played. I’m not going to sit here and give the poor me’s and the woe is us. We’ll get back ready to go.
“Obviously got a big, pivotal game next week against a rival opponent in Oklahoma. Very good football team. We need to get ourselves ready and focus on next week.”
Texas is 0-1 in the Southeastern Conference.
