Hey all and welcome to my Week 5 GPP Breakdown. We’ve had two decent weeks and two subpar weeks, let’s try to right the ship here in week 5!

Week 5 GPP Stacks
The largest total on the slate belongs to the Eagles and Cardinals at 48.5. If many are going this route, then I will probably pivot off it, but that isn’t something I’m going to know until Sunday morning. Join the Discord for those updates!
Los Angeles Chargers @ Cleveland Browns
Nick Chubb has over 100 scrimmage yards in every game this year and gets a Chargers defense that is 3rd worst against RBs. Kareem Hunt could, and will likely, cut into the workload here, but I’m holding out hope that
- Chubb’s coaching staff has finally figured out to just give Chubb the ball, and
- Chubb will be low owned at his price.

Justin Herbert, for whatever reason, appears to be killing it on the road. I ended up playing a lot of Herbert last week after his ownership came in low. I am going to do that exact same thing this week if that is the case. The Browns have been decent against QBs thus far but those QBs are named Baker Mayfield, Joe Flacco, Mitch Trubisky, and Marcus Mariota. If Herbert is disrespected on Sunday, then I would like to attack. Keenan Allen is out again so any combination of Austin Ekeler, Mike Williams, Gerald Everett, Josh Palmer, and even Deandre Carter if Palmer misses, is in play.
Tennessee Titans @ Washington Commanders
Through four games, here are these teams’ defensive ranks:
- Titans
- 7th worst vs QBs
- 13th best vs RBs
- 4th worst vs WRs
- 6th worst vs TEs
- Commanders
- 8th worst vs QBs
- 8th best vs RBs
- 2nd worst vs WRs
- 10th best vs TEs
The Titans secondary is depleted and ripe for attack. As such, I have interest in stacking Carson Wentz with one or two of Curtis Samuel and Terry McLaurin. Jahan Dotson is ruled OUT, so Cam Sims or Dynami Brown should replace him. I’ll work on trying to figure out who that is. Despite Washington being good against RBs, I fully expect the Titans to attack with Derrick Henry. People aren’t lining up to play the likes of Robert Woods, Nick Westbrook, and Cody Hollister, so running it back with one or two of them should be fairly unique.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Buffalo Bills
This is more of a mention than a particular game I am looking to attack. I am surprised the Steelers are going to bring out Kenny Pickett against the Bills. Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs and company could put up some serious first half points against this TJ Watt-less defense, but I doubt that the Steelers keep up in this game. Khalil Shakir might just end up being WR3 or even WR2 with Jameson Crowder and Jake Kumerow OUT. Isaiah McKenzie could miss with a concussion, and Gabe Davis will likely play but might still be limited with his ankle issue. Shakir is near minimum priced at $3200.
I’d only stack Allen with one, maybe two of his pass catchers, and maybe run it back with Diontae Johnson or George Pickens, as I simply don’t think Pittsburgh can keep up. That being said, I wouldn’t put it past them to try.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Arizona Cardinals
I doubt that the Cardinals have the ability to keep up here, but that doesn’t mean Jalen Hurts can’t have a day with one or two of his pass catchers. My favorite this week is Dallas Goedert as the Cardinals are the 2nd worst team in league vs TEs. Surprisingly, Arizona is the 7th best vs WRs. The Cards are susceptible to the run, so playing Eagle roulette with the backfield is in play as well. Devonta Smith and AJ Brown are in play here, but I would not play both in Philly stacks.
If I had to run it back on the other side, James Conner or Marquis Brown would be my guys. The Eagles defense is not allowing many points to opposing QBs or TEs.
Week 5 GPP One (or Two)-Offs

Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson. Bailey Zappe is starting. Despite the Lions being one of the worst teams in the league against WRs and the worst against QBs, I find it difficult to believe that Bill Bellichick will let Zappe unleash targets to this WR core like it’s Patriots 2007. The Lions are second worst against RBs. Be careful with Jared Goff this week, his home vs road splits aren’t great. If I do run this back, however, it will be with a Lions pass catcher like Sun God Amon-Ra St. Brown if he plays or Josh Reynolds as the Pats are one of the best teams vs RBs.

Tom Brady with Mike Evans, Leonard Fournette, and/or Chris Godwin. The time is now. When Tom Brady gets angry, he wins gpp slates. The Falcons have not been great against WRs, Tom has some stuff going on in his personal life, people think he’s washed, the stars are potentially aligning here. Tom is likely to get all of his toys back at the WR spot, with Godwin being first and foremost amongst them along with his juicy matchup against CB Dee Alford. This would be a potential game stack, and I might run it back with Drake London, but I think the Falcons get creamed here.
Cooper Kupp should still get plenty of work against the Boys. Just know that should you play him at this price, he’s going to need to go over at least 25 DK points to be in the winning gpp lineup.

James Robinson. This one pains me. Chalk James Robinson has literally never worked. Even my mother (SHOUT OUT! Hey Mom!!!) knows that the Houston Texans are the worst against RBs, so playing him makes a ton of sense, but it is also chalky. Travis Etienne was mixed in a little more last week. A growing role for Etienne? Chalk Robinson? A potential injury? Be careful here. Robinson is likely a cash game lock, but the decision in gpps this week is tough.
Dameon Pierce. It’s not like the Jags are great against the run either (8th worst). The Texans have begun to give more touches and trust in Pierce, and he will likely make some sort of noise on Sunday.
Brandin Cooks destroys the Jaguars. Granted, this is a different Jags defensive group and coaching staff, but if you’re playing Robinson in gpps, Cooks makes a lot of sense as a run back.
Zach Wilson with Corey Davis is something I just can’t get away from. Tyreek Hill is 100% in play if he suits up as he was limited with a quad issue. Raheem Mostert has also been leading the way in snaps over Chase Edmonds, but I would argue both are in play here,
Dallas Cowboys DST. At their price of $2500, DraftKings has made it quite easy to discern that this is the easiest play and a cash game lock.
Buffalo Bills DST also makes a ton of sense against a rookie QB without an offensive line.
