“We Can Win More Without Micah”: Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Makes Baffling Comment In Press Conference After Micah Parsons Trade

The Dallas Cowboys traded away Micah Parsons on Thursday to the Green Bay Packers for two first round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark. The Parsons trade made a lot of Cowboys fans upset.

A lot of fans expressed their anger toward owner Jerry Jones with the way he handled the whole situation. This trade immediately made the Packers instant Super Bowl contenders, and the Cowboys could potentially be one of the worst teams in the NFL after this trade. The 2025 NFL season could go south for Dallas in a hurry.

After the trade was finalized, Jerry and Stephen Jones spoke to the media and also answered questions. Jerry made a baffling comment about trading Micah away to Green Bay and said,

“We can win more without Micah than had we signed him.”

This is a tone-deaf comment. Vegas betting odds do not agree with this statement at all. The Packers Super Bowl betting odds improved immediately after the trade and are now the favorites to win the NFC North over the Detroit Lions. Dallas’s Super Bowl odds drastically dropped, and they were seven-point underdogs against the Philadelphia Eagles and are now 7.5 point underdogs.

Parsons is the second superstar that the Dallas sports fanbase has lost to a trade during the 2025 calendar year. The Dallas Mavericks traded away Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this year. Both of these trades have hurt Cowboys fans, and it is going to be a long 2025 season and a potential last place finish in the NFC East seems to be in order for Dallas.
