Washington Will Not Be Commanding the Playoffs

With a 7% chance of making the Playoffs, the Washington Commanders nearly sealed their fate with their loss to the Cleveland Browns today. This dropped from a 33% chance prior to their New Year’s Day game.

If the Green Bay Packers win, that will move to 0%.

    What went wrong today

A better question would be if anything went right.

    It didn’t.

There were some disappointments on the defensive side of the ball. Chase Young underwhelmed. DE Jonathan Allen left the game with a knee injury and was sorely missed.

The tempo and overall score of the game can be attributed to Carson Wentz almost exclusively.

If Wentz had attributed the same dedication to getting touchdowns as he did interceptions, the Commanders may have beaten the Browns today. Instead, he had one touchdown and three interceptions.

Heinicke was chanted during the game, and Wentz left the game in a sea of boos.

The people have spoken. Honestly though, Rivera doesn’t have any good options – just varying versions of bad.

    Commander fans don’t deserve this

Between a dangerous stadium (especially for Jalen Hurts) with a side of Salmonella, and Dan Snyder who is possibly more toxic, the fans have had a rough year.

    Brighter days ahead

Dan Snyder is likely selling (or being forced to) sell the Commanders team. Wentz will likely (hopefully) get the boot, and the Commanders may find a new, sewer water free home in the DMV.
