The Washington Huskies has lost linebacker Bryun Parham for the remainder of the season as Parham will redshirt.
Perhaps the most disturbing trend in college football has continued, as Parham will redshirt and then transfer out of Washington. The linebacker is upset with his usage through four games this season after transferring into the Huskies program this offseason.

The linebacker was previously a standout defender for the San Jose State football team before hitting the portal. Parham finished the 2023 season with 106 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception. The linebacker also had a productive 2022 season with the team, recording 74 tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles.
NEWS: Washington senior LB Bryun Parham will redshirt with the intention of entering the transfer portal.

Parham has largely not been playing this season as much as he would like to due to his own play. The linebacker has been playing behind Carson Bruener and Alphonzo Tuputala, two defenders who have spent what feels like ages with the Huskies. Zach Durfee has also shined on the edge for Washington, which had eliminated a potential position change for Parham.
Parham was a three-star recruit before committing and signing on with San Jose State. Upon entrance into the transfer portal, Parham was given a three-star rating again and considered the 288th-overall transfer in the portal.
The decision to redshirt and transfer from Parham is unfortunate to see, but should not be a major blow to the Washington Huskies defense moving forward.
Washington Huskies Linebacker Bryun Parham to Exit Program

For Parham, the future is now as the Huskies are likely to remove the linebacker from the program and the roster shortly, much like UNLV and USC did.
For Matthew Sluka, Michael Allen, Bear Alexander, and now Bryun Parham, all must find new programs moving forward. The UNLV staff stated they are not going to ‘do business’ with Sluka or Allen again, and have removed each player from the roster. Alexander was also removed from the USC Trojans roster following his decision to redshirt and transfer.
Parham will likely be removed from the roster in the coming days as he begins to seek other opportunities. The staff has not made an announcement yet, but the fans have already begun to speak their minds on social media. Some people respect Parham, as he was dropping down the depth chart, while others feel this is just a piece of a bigger issue.
Unfortunate. Probably saw the handwriting on the wall playing behind freshman House.

The worst precedent in college football history was really set by a dude who couldn’t even complete 50% of his passes

He shouldn’t be eligible next season. Quitting shouldn’t be rewarded!

Come to Tenn we’ll pay ya and play ya

Regardless of how individuals feel about Parham, the linebacker will be free to seek a different program out for his final year of eligibility.
