The Washington Commanders are taking full advantage of their window that has seemingly opened to be a contender and have made a trade to bolster the defense. It is being reported that the Washington Commanders have acquired four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore and a fifth-round pick in exchange for a third, fourth, and sixth-round pick0
The New Orleans Saints were still waiting to decide on whether they were going to make trades to be sellers at the NFL Trade Deadline but officially hit the button to do so. Marshon Lattimore is still recovering from a hamstring injury that forced him to miss last week’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
There was a report that players were wanting to be traded to the Washington Commanders this season and while we do not know if Marshon Lattimore was one of them, he has joined a team that is in the mix for the NFC East and possibly a Super Bowl berth.
Where does this trade put the Washington Commanders’ chances to make the Super Bowl?

Pairing Marshon Lattimore with a Dan Quinn defense is going to do wonders for the Washington Commanders’ defense, which is 11th in the NFL with 21.0 points per game given up. This trade now gives the team someone to pair with the likes of rookie corner Mike Sainristil.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Washington Commanders have the fifth-best odds to win the NFC (+1000). Below are the only teams ahead of them in the conference:
- Detroit Lions (+190)
- Philadelphia Eagles (+550)
- San Francisco 49ers (+600)
- Minnesota Vikings (+900)
With Jayden Daniels under center, there are still some questions but the team has done incredibly well through the first half of the regular season. This trade certainly gives the Commanders a lock-down cornerback that has playoff experience.
Expect the Washington Commanders to be a threat to make the Super Bowl with how well the team is doing and especially if they can lock up the top seed in the NFC.
