The Washington Commanders are a franchise that has not been shy of controversy. From Dan Snyder to Jon Gruden, the Commanders can now add another name to that list. Read below to find out all of the details.
Washington Commanders Release K Brandon McManus After Sexual Assault Allegations

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Washington Commanders have just released kicker Brandon McManus. His name has made headlines recently and not for reasons the team wants him to do so. Recently, two women have claimed that McManus sexually assaulted them.
Sexual Assault Allegation Details

So, what is the backstory behind these sexual allegation claims? For one thing, it is alleged that this took place while McManus was on the Jacksonville Jaguars last season. The two women were flight attendants on flights from Jacksonville to London and back.
Interestingly, the Jaguars decided not to re-sign McManus after the 2023 season. However, this may not be because of these allegations. It is important to note McManus only converted five out of ten field goal attempts that were 50+ yards.
What were the details of this case? For one thing, McManus allegedly tried to kiss one of the flight attendants who is claiming he sexually assaulted them. As for the other flight attendant, she claims McManus was grinding on her while she was trying to serve a meal on the flight.
It is not the first time the 2023 Jacksonville Jaguars have had an unpleasant headline. Last season, it was revealed one of their employees embezzled around $22 million from the franchise to support his sports betting addiction. Now, if these allegations are true, you can argue a Jaguars player created an unsafe work environment on a charter flight.
Washington Commanders and Brandon McManus Moving Forward

What will happen with the Commanders and McManus? Well, the Commanders are going to need a new kicker. This will be yet another challenge Washington will have to overcome along with a new head coach and a new quarterback.
How about McManus? Well, if these allegations turn out to be true, he may have trouble getting another job in the NFL. McManus is 32 years old and has played in the NFL for 10 seasons. If this is the end of the road for him, he will walk away making 253/311 field goals and 312/321 extra points.
