The Washington Commanders continue their hot streak by getting a win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4. Their victory has led NBA legend Magic Johnson to share what blew his mind away when it came to how the team overcame their opponents.

In an impressive performance, the Commanders defeated the Cardinals with a score of 42-14 in Week 4, showcasing the potential of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. He completed an impressive 26 of 30 passes for 234 yards, throwing one touchdown while also adding a rushing touchdown to his tally. His sole touchdown pass was a deft throw to Terry McLaurin in the end zone, highlighting his ability to deliver under pressure.

The Commanders’ ground game was equally effective, with Brian Robinson Jr. stepping up in the absence of Austin Ekeler. Robinson rushed for 101 yards on 21 carries, scoring once and consistently moving the chains. He demonstrated resilience, amassing 76 yards after contact and averaging 3.6 yards per carry after initial contact. His contributions extended into the passing game as well, where he caught all three of his targets for 12 yards, showcasing his versatility.

Defensively, the Commanders were relentless, particularly in their efforts to disrupt Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray. The defensive line pressured him on 10 of his 29 dropbacks, leading to four sacks despite his solid completion rate of 17 out of 23 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown.

Along with all the numbers Washington posted against Atlanta, Johnson also emphasized the presence and support of fans as they watched the game. This claim can be seen in a tweet the former Lakers star posted on his X account.

“I was blown away by how many Commanders fans were at the game today! They showed out and were even louder than the Cardinals fans,” Johnson tweeted.

After the Washington Commanders’ impressive victory over the Cardinals, Johnson called on fans to rally behind the team. As the they look to build on this momentum, their balanced attack and improved defensive performance will be key as they aim for continued success in the season ahead, something which the fans will appreciate.

Johnson also praised the offensive line for protecting Daniels and highlighted the defense’s strong performance. The NBA legend also urged fans to fill Northwest Stadium for the upcoming game against the Cleveland Browns, emphasizing the importance of a vibrant home atmosphere.
