The Washington Commanders are now up to 3-1 after getting a Week 4 win over the Arizona Cardinals. For his part, NBA icon Magic Johnson gave an eye-opening reason how the team went home with the dub.

In a commanding performance, the Commanders triumphed over Arizona with a score of 42-14. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels shone brightly, throwing for 233 yards and a touchdown, along with a 9-yard rushing touchdown that showcased his agility and playmaking ability. This victory marked the Commanders’ third consecutive win, improving their record to 3-1.

Daniels, the second overall pick in the 2024 draft, became only the fourth quarterback in Super Bowl history to rush for four touchdowns in his first four games, joining elite company like Cam Newton and Robert Griffin III. His accuracy was impressive, completing 26 of 30 passes and achieving an 82% completion rate.

The Commanders’ offensive strategy proved effective, amassing 449 total yards. Brian Robinson Jr. contributed significantly with 101 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Jeremy McNichols added two rushing touchdowns of his own. The team’s offense has been a focal point in recent weeks, scoring over 30 points in back-to-back games for the first time since 2017.

After the match, various personalities praised the Commanders for their win over Arizona. Among those who reacted positively was NBA icon and Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson, as seen in a series of tweets he posted on his official X account.

“Commanders fans, the offensive line has done an amazing job all season long protecting our quarterback Jayden Daniels, who was spectacular once again!” Johnson tweeted.

“The Commanders offense was well balanced today. We finished with 4 rushing TDs led by Robinson Jr.’s 101 yards and Jeremy McNichols added an additional 2 TDs. Scary Terry McLaurin had another receiving TD and now we’re 3-1 on the season!” the NBA legend added.

“But today goes to our Commanders defense – they really stepped up big with 4 sacks and held Kyler Murray and the Cardinals to 14 points!” Johnson concluded.

After the Commanders’ impressive win, Johnson called on fans to fill Northwest Stadium for their Week 5 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. He also commended those who showed up for the match against the Cardinals to support the Jayden Daniels-led team.

With the team now standing at 3-1, Johnson emphasized the importance of a vibrant home crowd to maintain their momentum.  As excitement builds around the Commanders, fan support will be crucial as they aim for a fourth consecutive victory.
