Just recently, Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt threw some shade towards rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels‘ way by saying the Washington Commanders employed a college offense. In turn, former NFL star Robert Griffin III dropped some truth regarding the situation.
Taylor-Britt has no regrets about his pregame comments regarding Daniels and the Commanders. Ahead of their Week 3 matchup, he suggested that the rookie was running a simplistic system that resembled a “nice college offense.” His remarks gained attention after Daniels led a remarkable performance, throwing two touchdown passes and rushing for another score during the game.
Despite the Bengals losing 38-0, Taylor-Britt stood by his comments, emphasizing that they were not intended to be malicious. He acknowledged that his words might have been taken out of context but maintained that he didn’t regret expressing his thoughts. The game itself was historic, marking the first time in Super Bowl history that a game ended without either team punting or committing a turnover, showcasing the efficiency of Washington’s offense.
Taylor-Britt reflected on the outcome, admitting that he could “eat his words,” but reaffirmed his belief in the assessment he made prior to the game. As the Commanders look to build on their success against the Arizona Cardinals, the Bengals face their own challenges, aiming for their first win of the season against the Carolina Panthers.
Robert Griffin III Explains Washington Commanders’ College Offense With Rookie Quarterbackl Jayden Daniels
Taylor-Britt’s comments drew a lot of reactions, especially after the Commanders got the win over Cincinnati recently. Among those who reacted was former NFL star Robert Griffin III, as seen in a tweet he shared on his official X account.
Jayden Daniels and Kliff Kingsbury do have a nice College Offense. It has Washington in 1st in the NFC East and the Bengals in last in the AFC North. pic.twitter.com/u6kvoEnQOS

Daniels made a memorable impact in his primetime debut, leading the Commanders to a win over the Bengals. He set an NFL rookie record with a 91.3% completion rate, throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for another. His performance drew comparisons to Griffin, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities as he amassed 171 rushing yards in his first three games.
Daniels’ ability to deliver under pressure solidifies his potential as a franchise quarterback, hinting at a promising future for both him and the Commanders. If he lives up to that expectation, Washington fans will have more reasons to be excited about their team.
