The 11-5 Washington Commanders will travel to Texas to play against the 7-9 Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium for their regular-season finale. With a win over Dallas or a Green Bay Packers loss to the Chicago Bears, Washington secures the sixth seed in the NFC. However, with a loss to the Cowboys and a Packers victory over the Bears, the Commanders would drop to the seventh seed.
Washington Commanders’ Pro Bowl midseason acquisition has battled a lingering injury throughout the season
4-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore has battled a lingering hamstring injury throughout the 2024 season, which has caused him to miss seven games, including two with the New Orleans Saints and five with the Washington Commanders. After suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1, Lattimore missed Week 2 but returned in Week 3 and played the next six games. Unfortunately, he couldn’t dodge the injury bug, as he suffered another hamstring injury in Week 7 and aggravated it in Week 8, which caused him to miss Week 9.
The Saints traded Lattimore to the Commanders during the NFL Trade Deadline, ahead of Week 10. Lattimore missed Weeks 10-13. He returned for Weeks 15 and 16 but suffered a hamstring injury in Week 16, which caused him to miss Week 17 as a result.

The Commanders Pro Bowler will miss his eighth game this season
Marshon Lattimore did not practice during the week. The Washington Commanders will soon release their final injury report for Week 18 in a little while. However, Lattimore will not play this weekend, as Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported a little while ago; he will miss the eighth game this season and sixth as a member of the Commanders.

During Friday’s press conference, Dan Quinn revealed an encouraging injury report on Marshon Lattimore, who is very close to returning for the Wild Card
“I can’t speak on the long term but I do know he’s working incredibly hard at it,” said Quinn via Evan Winter of A to Z Sports. “So when you’re close, you want to obviously go for it. And the fact that he is putting in all the work to go there, I’m hopeful that it’ll eventually be, we’re okay. We won’t say we can put it in the rearview mirror forever, because there’ll always be probably some maintenance when he, or any player, has an injury and [they] keep working through it. But I would say that I love the speed that he’s working with and he’s certainly very close.”
