Pro Bowl stud wideout of the Minnesota Vikings Adam Thielen is already universally known as a great football player. I guess we can add Golf to that list. He and many other current and retired athletes are competing this weekend at the annual American Century Classic in Lake Tahoe, California. Thielen had a great weekend finishing as the top NFL player, and overall tied for fourth place with Annika Sorenstam. Who knew this guy was good at golf? After doing a little digging, I guess he has a little history with the game of golf.
Rodgers finished in ninth place out of 87 people. Second-best active NFL player behind Adam Thielen. https://t.co/V8e7TMIPh9

Golf Isn’t That Unfamiliar for Thielen
Thielen became serious about golf as he entered Detroit Lakes High School in Minnesota. In 2007, he was apart of his high school winning the state championship. The Vikings wide receiver has played in the American Century Classic for six years now and has shown progress every time. He finished top 12 the last three years, and obviously improved on that again in 2022. Thielen has also started to play with professional golfers as well. In February of this year he partnered with Brooks Koepka at the Pro-am WM Phoenix Open. Brooks had this to say about Thielen:
“We were laughing about it, my team — Jeff Pierce and my caddie Ricky — we were talking about it. It’s amazing,” Koepka said of Thielen’s skills. “His ball speed is probably in the top 15 out here in ball speeds. I mean, on the last hole it was 179 and change.”
Brooks also went on to say that he believed with a little refinement of his game, Thielen could legitimately have a shot at professional golf.
Adam Thielen's favorite week of the year is playing in the American Century Championship, and he enters day two of the event in the top five.
The Vikings WR also breaks down the Minnesota State-Winona State rivalry. We explain that local link here. https://t.co/H9m2UroK9j

In Conclusion
Thielen’s love of golf is evident due to his skill and telling reporters that the event in Lake Tahoe is his favorite week of the year. Every year he aims for a top five finish, but possibly he could take the top spot in 2023. Maybe one day we will see Adam Thielen out there swinging a golf club professionally rather than catching a football. As a Vikings fan, hopefully that’s not for a few more years.
