The Minnesota Vikings showed that their tumultuous off-season wasn’t going to carry over into week one of the 2024 NFL season. Minnesota dominated the New York Giants in every phase on their way to a 28-6 victory on Sunday.
Now they’ve made a significant long-term signing for their defense.
Minnesota Vikings Agree To Huge $20M Signing After Win Vs. Giants
According to Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network:
The Vikings are signing veteran DT Harrison Phillips to a two-year contract extension worth up to $19 million with over $13M guaranteed, per sources.
A 2023 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award nominee, Phillips is now locked in with Minnesota through 2026.
In 2023, Smith took 839 snaps as opposed to 694 in 2022, which increased the veteran defender’s utility rate significantly. He has become a pillar for Minnesota’s defensive line and hopes to play for years to come as he is only 28-years-old.
