Bouncing back against the Lions, from the beatdown the Vikings received from the Eagles on Monday Night Football was exactly what some expected; sluggish, out of tune and picking right where they left off in Philly. On Sunday at home, Kirk was having trouble getting on track with top receiver Justin Jefferson. Jefferson has brought in only nine receptions and 62 yards over his last two games. On the other hand, Dalvin Cook seemed to look like himself for the first time this season. Rushing four yards shy of the 100 yard mark and also running in a touchdown.
Key Injury report
He suffered a dislocated shoulder in the second half, removing him from the game. Cook has been dealing with a shoulder injury and opted to not get surgery in the offseason. Therefore, it will be something Cook will have to play through this season. The Vikings shouldn’t panic yet, because he returned to practice Thursday and is in great shape to suit up and play Sunday morning in London against the Saints. Harrison Smith has passed the concussion protocol and is expected to play Sunday. Fullback C.J Ham was a full participant this week and will be ready to play. Za’Darius Smith is questionable with his knee injury.
Vikings Clutch Fourth Quarter Saves Two Week Collapse
Watching the Vikings nearly fall behind to a division opponent in the Lions, after taking a terrible loss to the Eagles on Primetime, raised some doubt that they might be following last years footsteps. One thing they cannot do is fall behind in the first half of the schedule like last season. After the resilient win against the offensive red hot Lions, this comeback victory certainly put the Viking fans at ease knowing they did not take an early tumble in the division.
